Our MDF and MDF Lam production processes are based on environmentally friendly forest products. To ensure this approach is sustainable, we are re-establishing our production processes in line with circular economy principles and protecting natural resources with FSC-certified raw materials. We convert production-related biomass waste into energy and utilize it in our processes.
• We recycled 150 tons of mixed waste.
“This prevented the cutting of approximately 2,500 trees and saved 1 million liters of water.”
This prevented the cutting of approximately 2,500 trees and saved 1 million liters of water.
In 2020, we made a breakthrough in the MDF sector by installing Solar Energy System Panels with a capacity of 5.7 MW on the roofs of our production facilities. Today, our rooftop solar energy investments have reached a total capacity of 8.2 MW. Thanks to the SPS, we have prevented the emission of 10.5 million kg of greenhouse gases. With our ORC system, we have generated electricity from waste heat, significantly reducing the use of fossil fuels.
With the clean energy we have provided so far today, 1,526,530,740 smartphones could have been fully charged.
This amount is equivalent to the air that more than 225,000 trees can clean in a year, or the annual electricity consumption of 8,700 households.
As part of our ISO 50001 Energy Management System, we are making automation investments to increase process efficiency and optimizing our high-energy-consuming equipment with new technologies.
Starting in 2022, we are transitioning our company vehicles to hybrid and 100% electric systems to reduce fossil fuel consumption. By converting only our cleaning vehicles, we have saved 28,300 kg of diesel fuel per year.
We calculate our corporate carbon inventory in 6 scopes in accordance with the TS EN ISO 14064-1 standard. By identifying emission hotspots, we plan strategic improvement projects in these areas.
We reduce our water footprint by reusing the water we use in the process through advanced treatment techniques. We make our processes more efficient through continuous improvement projects.
